Almost all Google searches, especially questions, offer the top result in a neat little box known as a rich snippet. Rich snippets account for nearly 55% of all clicks on Google. Snippets are what they sound like: bite-sized bits of information relevant to your search. They’re a fantastic way to advertise your site’s valuable information and increase your number of visitors.

Your website doesn’t have to be in the top-ranked position either (position 0); it just needs to come in around the top five. A well-worded snippet can be placed at the top of the search regardless of your site’s current ranking!

The first step in setting up a successful snippet is to identify a keyword for which your site already ranks well. Once you’ve got that, you have to provide clear answers to commonly asked questions in your niche. Snippets can showcase anything from review stars and votes for products to concise chunks of helpful information that will draw users to your site.

It’s important to note that rich snippets won’t directly increase your website’s rankings, but you will notice an increase in visitors. This means it works better as a solution on how to drive traffic to your website in the short term, which will improve your ranking in the long term.

Improve dwell time

Dwell time is the time someone spends on your website, specifically your homepage. A high bounce rate (visitors who don’t dwell) will move your site down in rankings, which is definitely something you don’t want!

It’s worth mentioning that dwell time is not quite the same as click-through rate (CTR). CTR keeps track of the number of people who click on your link, while dwell time focuses on what people do after they click the link.

The best solution to improve dwell time is to embed videos on your homepage. A relatively easy way to accomplish this is to repurpose some of your old content (blog posts, articles, etc.) and create videos out of them. Just be sure you don’t bombard your users with a bunch of videos at the same time, especially ones that play automatically.

Once you start adding varied content to your site, you’ll notice that Google will tend to favor you over other sites that do not. We predict that pages with a combination of text and videos will see at least some increases in their dwell time and reduction of their bounce rate.

The statistics are not that great, but as I learn SEO in depth, I'll improve on them.
As I started the new website, I was confused about how to get backlinks and all that stuff we're told when watching a tutorial or reading an article. 

I simply ignored backlinks for the time being and did keyword research and competitor analysis. My focus was low-volume, low-competition keywords and useful content.

Strategy I followed:

1. I used Semrush to find websites in my niche and selected a few of the websites.

2. After selecting the websites, I checked into their keyword details and found many keywords to tackle (KD less than 25 and volume between 100 and 1000).

3. I wrote content only on those topics, which I could easily win over.

4. I kept the website tech stack really simple to not overcomplicate all the processes.

How can i get more traffic on a Blog

There are so many possible answers to this question. Since you have 0 visitors and are obviously just beginning, here are a few beginner tips to get you going:

Make sure your site is in one niche. Many folks getting started blend more than one niche together and this keeps you from gaining search engine optimization (SEO) traction. For example, don’t blog one day about recipes and another day about sports. The search engines don’t know what your blog is focused on. So, select the one niche to focus on.

Do some keyword research and start writing around keywords you have a chance to rank for. For example, if your site is about knitting, don’t try to rank for the word “knitting” on your first blog post. It’s very competitive. You can see that on a free tool like Ubersuggest:

In the beginning look for keywords with at least 100 monthly search volume and under 30, maybe 20, in terms of SEO Difficulty (this indicates how easy or difficult it will be to rank for that keyword). As your site matures, you will be able to rank for more difficult keywords.

The next thing you need to do is make sure you write the best content for that keyword. Go to Google and look at the first couple pages of search results. Can you create better content than the sites already ranking? Yes? Good, go do that.

Write long-form content. Most of the content ranking at the top of Google will typically be 1500 to 3000 words. Of course, it can’t just be any old words. It has to be the best content for that topic.

As your blog posts grow in number, look for ways to link them together. This is called internal linking, and it’s an important SEO ranking factor. So is site speed. Make sure your site loads quickly and that you’re using a responsive theme so your pages show up well on desktops, laptops, phones and tablets.

Start with the above tips because most new bloggers don’t do these first few things. Get good in these areas and be patient.

You might find your content ranks somewhere in the first 1–5 pages of search results with simply the proper keyword selection and outstanding content. After that, do a Google search for how to promote blog content so you can get a little off-page SEO going (incoming links, brand awareness, etc).

And, take your time. Keep learning. None of your competitors learned how to rank high right away either. They just kept going and kept getting better. You can do the same!
